Bethany Thompson is an associate in our Environmental, Safety & Health Practice based in our Manchester office. Bethany specialises in health and safety law, defending private companies and individuals facing criminal and regulatory proceedings following serious and fatal incidents. She has experience handling initial investigations by both the police and the Health and Safety Executive, and also representing clients throughout all stages of inquests and subsequent criminal litigation.

    • Representing clients in the construction, engineering and manufacturing industries throughout inquest proceedings and prosecutions brought by the Health and Safety Executive.
    • Acting for clients in the prison service sector following deaths in custody throughout inquest proceedings and investigations by both the police and the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.
    • Advising care home businesses subject to regulatory proceedings initiated by the Care Quality Commission following alleged service failings.
    • Representing clients throughout professional disciplinary proceedings, including those brought before the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and General Optical Council.
