Brad Wright represents clients on complex business matters often involving the intersection of law, public policy and business. His career has included successful engagements both as an in-house general counsel and as a lawyer representing clients while in private practice. He has owned and operated his own business and has sat on many public and private entity boards of directors.

    Brad has used his real estate, public finance, legal experience and leadership skills to drive complex business, real estate, sports and a host of other initiatives to successful completion or through times of crisis. His real estate development and finance experience includes mixed-use commercial developments, master planned communities, home building, golf courses and publicly owned professional sports facilities. He has managed complex litigation matters and negotiated several high-profile disputes to successful resolution.

    Brad was appointed by Governor Ducey as an Arizona Zanjeros, and is a two-term governor’s appointee and past chairman of the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority. He is chairman of the Arizona Organizing Committee that successfully hosted the 2016 College Football Playoff Championship Game, and serves on the board of the Phoenix Local Organizing Committee for the 2017 NCAA Final Four. Brad also serves on the Greater Phoenix Economic Council board of directors, and is a past chairman of WESTMARC.

    • General counsel and VP of a real estate development company that generated more than US$200 million in annual revenue and owned assets valued at more than US$700 million.
    • Co-managed the successful wind-down of the real estate company mentioned above, liquidating the company's assets and negotiating the payoff of roughly US$800 million in secured debt and bond obligations.
    • Led the restructure and growth of an owner representation firm specializing in development of K-12 campuses and collegiate sports facilities. Significantly grew the company's revenue and market reach. Managed development and entitlement of multiple facilities projects.
    • Successfully negotiated a US$17 million settlement on behalf of a public authority resolving a dispute with a local municipality. 


    • Representing Indiana State University on the formation of a special taxing district for the US$75 million renovation of their Division I basketball arena and addition of convention space in coordination with various state and local entities.
    • Advised the University of Memphis on a plan of finance leveraging donor contributions for the construction of US$40 million of athletic training facilities.
    • Represented Great Hearts Academies, a large Arizona-based charter management organization on the finance, land acquisition and entitlement of multiple new schools, including Arete K-12 campus, Gilbert Arizona; Cicero K-12 campus, Scottsdale, Arizona; Trivium K-12 campus, Goodyear, Arizona; and Lincoln K-12 Campus, Chandler, Arizona.
    • Represented Legacy Traditional, a large Arizona-based charter management organization, in the site selection and land acquisition for the development of a new school in Surprise, Arizona.

    Sports and Sports Facilities

    • Represented the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority in the negotiation of funding for construction of spring training facilities for the Cincinnati Reds in Goodyear, Arizona, the Milwaukee Brewers spring training facility in Phoenix, Arizona, and the Oakland A’s spring training facility in Mesa, Arizona.
    • Served as chairman of the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority during a period of significant political and legal challenges and successfully negotiated resolution of those lawsuits, and its other claims.
    • Served as chairman of the Arizona Organizing Committee hosting the 2016 National Championship game at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
    • Member of Final Four Exploratory Committee that evaluated and successfully bid to host the 2017 NCAA Final Four Tournament at the University of Phoenix Stadium and now serving as board member of the local host committee.

    Real Estate

    • Representing the owner of 16,000 low income housing units with all tax credit, acquisitions, dispositions, financings and limited partnership restructurings across the US.
    • Representing a large private investor on acquisitions, dispositions and financings related to their commercial office portfolio.
    • Represented the owner of a golf course portfolio of eight courses on its operational and transactional legal matters.
    • Represented various clients in projects concerning commercial land development, real estate finance transactions and state land lease applications.

    Public Policy

    • Led a successful effort to change Arizona's tax code on behalf of the Apollo Group to provide significant tax relief to Arizona-based service providers; resulted in a significant tax benefit to Apollo, an Arizona-based Fortune 500 company.
    • Appointed by Governor Brewer to a Fiesta Bowl Oversight Committee formed to protect the Fiesta Bowl in the wake of public corruption scandal.
    • Ran the grassroots campaign for voter approval of public funding for the University of Phoenix Stadium, cactus league facility construction, tourism promotion and other public facilities.
