Emily Wallerstein focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts.

    She handles a variety of matters on behalf of major corporations, financial institutions and public entities, including contract disputes, accounting and fraud claims, business torts, real estate, and intellectual property matters. 

    Emily is well versed in all phases of civil litigation, from the initial pleading stage through the strategic use of pretrial law and motion, discovery, as well as trial and appellate proceedings. Emily also has experience representing clients in internal and government investigations. 

    Prior to joining the firm, Emily served as an extern for the Honorable Chief Judge Alex Kozinski of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

    • Representing a leading global bank in class actions and various state court proceedings involving breach of contract, fraud and unfair business practices claims relating to complex loan products.
    • Representing a city and public entities in a breach of contract and judicial foreclosure action against the largest real estate developer in West Covina resulting in a judgment of foreclosure and order of sale in excess of US$10 million.
    • Representing leading product makers in federal trademark actions.
    • Representing a client in arbitration proceedings regarding intellectual property rights under a patent assignment agreement.
    • Successfully representing a major airline in the defense of a California Labor Code 2810 claim, Hawkins v. TACA International Airlines, S.A., et al., 223 Cal.App.4th 466 (Jan. 27, 2014), 2014 Cal.App. LEXIS 72.
    • Advising the third largest Japanese trading company regarding litigation costs and risks in connection with its acquisition of the global packaged foods and Asian fresh fruit business from the world’s largest producer and marketer of fresh fruits and vegetables.
