About Amina

Amina Ben Ayed is an associate in our International Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Her practice focuses on investment arbitration, international commercial arbitration and litigation.

Amina has experience advising and representing sovereign states and state-owned entities in investment treaty arbitrations conducted under various applicable laws and arbitration rules, including ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL and LCIA. She also advises clients in the context of enforcement and setting-aside proceedings before the French Court of Appeal.

Amina speaks French, English and Arabic. She is a fully qualified lawyer in France (Avocate à la Cour). She teaches international arbitration to master degree students at the University Evry Val d'Essonne.

Experience

  • Representing a national oil corporation in an ad hoc arbitration governed by English law, in connection with the impact of acts of war and insurrection on the performance of a charter party.
  • Representing a North African state in an ongoing investment arbitration conducted pursuant to ICC rules, in relation to three major construction projects.
  • Representing an African state in an ongoing ICSID arbitration in connection with the construction of a resort project.
  • Representing a North African state in a UNCITRAL arbitration proceeding filed by a group of Lebanese and Jordanian nationals under the OIC treaty.
  • Representing a North African state in a UNCITRAL arbitration proceeding filed by two French nationals under a bilateral investment treaty.
