About Chris

Chris Harper is a Pensions partner based in our London office. Chris advises trustees of UK defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes.

His experience includes drafting scheme documentation in connection with benefit change and scheme closure proposals; advising on member transfer and options exercises; implementation of security and funding arrangements; and drafting member communications following benefit rectification projects. Chris has a particular interest in pension investments and advises a number of schemes in the not-for-profit sector.

Chris is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and of the Society of Pension Professionals European Sub-Committee.

Experience

  • Instructing counsel on the interpretation of pension indexation provisions, with potentially material impact on scheme liabilities.
  • Providing advice to trustees in relation to a DC bulk transfer exercise to a mastertrust arrangement.
  • Advising on an asset transition project as part of the implementation of a fiduciary management mandate.
