About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Safier is an associate in the Government Investigations & White Collar Practice Group. She represents domestic and international clients in internal investigations, enforcement actions and litigation. She has assisted clients in responding to local, state and federal regulatory actions, corporate compliance concerns and related disputes. Her experience also includes representing clients in criminal investigations and prosecutions regarding alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations, money laundering and bribery schemes, and fraud.

Before rejoining the firm, Elizabeth served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Benita Y. Pearson for the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Prior to her clerkship, she was an associate with the firm following her graduation, cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

During law school, Elizabeth served as deputy executive director of the Yemen Accountability Project, and was a Cox Center Fellow and a Hugo Grotius International Law Scholar. She also competed as a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team, which she continues to coach as an adjunct professor. She also gained criminal litigation experience through internships and externships with INTERPOL, the Office of the New York State Attorney General Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau, the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and the Honorable Magistrate Judge Jonathan D. Greenberg for the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

In addition to her law degree, Elizabeth holds a Master of Arts in violin performance from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Baldwin Wallace University.
