Erik Morrison

Erik Morrison has over 20 years of experience providing clients with strategic advocacy in complex litigation cases across the US and Canada.

He specializes in defending manufacturers and suppliers in product liability lawsuits and consumer class actions. He has successfully represented clients in the automotive, pharmaceutical, medical device, renewable energy and construction industries. Erik has also successfully litigated a wide variety of complex commercial and business disputes.

Products Liability

Erik’s practice focuses on the defense of foreign and domestic companies facing product liability lawsuits and consumer class actions involving claims of major property loss, catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Serving as national coordination counsel for companies, Erik has extensive experience successfully coordinating the defense of US and Canadian litigation for manufacturers and distributors of various consumer products. In this role, he coordinates with in-house counsel and technical product support teams, outside consulting experts and local counsel across the US and Canada.

Erik also has wide-ranging “front line” experience coordinating in-field investigation of new matters, including the coordination of accident scene and vehicle inspections, as well as fire scene and debris inspections. For example, he has coordinated and managed numerous fire origin and cause investigations pursuant to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 921 Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations for multiple clients.

Construction Defect

Erik has experience with all aspects of construction defect cases in both California and Nevada. He has helped companies navigate the statutory pre-litigation process, including coordination of inspections and analysis of whether to elect the “right to repair,” as well as the defense of those claims that proceed to litigation. He has also helped product manufacturers coordinate comprehensive defenses to widespread litigation, ensuring that the handling of a single claim or the defense of a single lawsuit does not compromise the big picture strategy.

Commercial Litigation

Erik’s practice has also included a wide variety of complex commercial and business litigation matters in several different industries. He has successfully litigated disputes arising from complex letter-of-credit issues, low-income housing tax credit projects, projects involving the restoration and redevelopment of previously environmentally contaminated sites, earnout and incentive payment contracts, and one of the largest wind power projects in the country.

Intellectual Property & Technology

Erik has prior experience managing international and domestic trademark prosecution and litigation, as well as worldwide trademark clearance and registration for a major computer manufacturer.
