About Haowen

Haowen Xu is an associate in the Corporate Practice, based in our Shanghai office. She has extensive practice experience in general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment and foreign direct investment.

Haowen has advised numerous clients, including multinationals, foreign-invested companies and domestic companies, providing them with legal services such as legal due diligence, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and legal research on various aspects of People’s Republic of China (PRC) laws and policies. She has served clients across a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food and beverage, logistics, chemicals, technology, media and telecommunication (TMT), and retail.

Haowen has spent significant time on cross-border compliance matters relating to data privacy, personal information protection, cybersecurity and digital assets. With comprehensive work in gap and impact assessment, she offers clients with practical solutions to mitigate risks while remaining compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Working with our strong trade team in Washington DC, she also helps Chinese companies to adopt export control compliance programmes, and to interact with the US Department of Commerce.

Prior to joining the firm, Haowen was an associate at a leading Chinese firm.
