Rachel Kerr has over 15 years’ experience working across numerous real estate sectors and assets for a range of both investment and development clients. She specialises in industrial and logistics, offices, retail, data centres and the living sector, including hotels.
Rachel particularly enjoys helping clients navigate through complex transactions, whether that is as a result of structuring or size, and she is well-versed in corporate real estate transactions and financing jobs alongside her day-to-day work.
Experience
Leading on the real estate elements of a large-scale sale acquisition of four luxury hotels in central London (including acquisition, financing and the creation and disposal of income strip leases).
Assisting with the real estate elements of the multimillion refinancing and sale of a pan-European and US hostels portfolio.
Leading on all aspects of legal work at a UK industrial estate with a focus on food production. In addition to real estate workstreams, this included advice on a joint venture (JV) arrangement, grant funding and energy infrastructure.
Acting for a group of investors managed by an institutional pension fund on the complex acquisition of an office and education campus in London. This was followed by 10+ years of post-acquisition advice in relation to its development and asset management.
Advising an institutional investor on the acquisition and subsequent asset management of Grade A office space in London and Manchester locations with total acquisition prices exceeding £250 million.
Working with a leading UK developer on the acquisition and sale of sites for data centre development, including advice on power connection agreements.
Working alongside a private equity firm on the £100 million+ acquisition of a logistics portfolio consisting of nine regional industrial and trade counters, spanning around 950,000 sq. ft across 159 units.
Leading on the acquisition of a development site from a major master developer as part of a developer’s “garden-style” rental housing strategy.
Providing real estate advice on the acquisition of major water and energy companies.
