About Rebekah
Rebekah Siliezar is a member of the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group. She represents distressed companies, creditors, cities and other stakeholders in complex disputes, bankruptcy proceedings and financial restructurings. Her practice focuses on helping clients navigate high-stakes litigation, financial distress and other critical business challenges.
Rebekah draws on a broad litigation background to advise clients through all stages of disputes, from early case assessment and strategic counseling through dispositive motion practice, trial preparation and resolution. Prior to joining the firm, Rebekah earned her J.D. from Georgetown Law and honed her litigation skills through internships with the US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, the US Commission on Civil Rights, the DC Court of Appeals and the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She also developed strong trial advocacy and negotiation skills as a student lawyer and court-appointed counsel for children charged with misdemeanors and felonies in DC Juvenile Court.
Experience
Handles matters through all phases of litigation, including case assessment, litigation strategy, dispositive motion practice and trial preparation.
Represented a municipal creditor in a priority dispute and helped secure more than US$1 million in recovery for the city.
Represented a corporate stakeholder in litigation and restructuring matters arising from the Chapter 11 reorganization of a company whose value was materially impaired by fraud.
Represented a lender in highly contentious bankruptcy litigation and trial proceedings arising from recovery efforts against a distressed mining operation.
Represented a high-profile manufacturer in litigation involving contractual, products liability and tort claims.
