Squire Patton Boggs and WSA Law have co-advised the Emballator Group, a leading packaging solutions provider, on the acquisition of French packaging manufacturer Avez SAS.
The multipractice Squire Patton Boggs team in Paris advising Emballator was led by Corporate Partner Tony Reed, and included Dan Hassett, Kévin Cosmao, Angélique Charrier, Chiara Wang, Valérie Ravit, Marion Cavalier, Pauline Pierce and Romane Vernier. The WSA Law team in Sweden was led by Corporate Partner Henrik Sjöman assisted by Senior Associate Mikaela Leion.
The Emballator Group offers a wide range of packaging solutions, with a variety of products in different materials, for market segments such as paint, chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, food, beauty, and personal care. The group has around 900 employees and an annual turnover of approximately 2.7 billion SEK. Emballator has 10 manufacturing units in Sweden, Finland, and the UK.
Avez, located in Wattrelos, France, specializes in manufacturing industrial tin metal packaging tailored for hazardous materials. The company was founded in 1950 by the Avez family. The company was acquired from the second-generation siblings Antoine and Thomas Avez, who will stay on to secure the handover.
“We’re pleased our full-service team in France could support Emballator on an important transaction which will expand its product range and extend its operations in Northern Europe,” said Tony Reed.
