Latin Lawyer has ranked Squire Patton Boggs Peña Prieto Gamundi as “highly recommended” among firms in the Dominican Republic in its Latin Lawyer 250.
The Latin Lawyer 250 provides an annual review of the legal marketplace across multiple Latin American jurisdictions, with analysis of the Latin American practices of international law firms. The report cited Squire Patton Boggs Peña Prieto Gamundi as the “only Dominican outpost of a prominent US firm which benefits from an international reach which puts it head and shoulders above many of its local competitors.”
The firm was distinguished for its “enviable disputes offering – which lends itself to a plentiful harvest of high-stakes cases – paired with a sizeable contact list of sovereign states, foreign investors and companies, put the local office in good stead for success.”
Latin Lawyer also highlighted the firm as a “respected name for its banking and finance, real estate and M&A groups” with a global reach that makes “multijurisdictional work simple and allows the Dominican firm to capitalise upon investment deals from international players.”
According to the report “Clients have commended this firm for the high levels of legal knowledge demonstrated by its lawyers, as well as the ‘kind attention’ these individuals pay to every deal and case they take on.” Practitioners are also described as “pragmatic and agile in everything they do, which helps bring clientele back time and time again.”
The Dominican Republic is expected to post the highest economic growth in Latin America this year, according to estimates from the IMF and The World Bank.
