Michael Atherton has experience advising banks, financial institutions and corporate borrowers in relation to syndicated and bilateral financing arrangements, particularly in the areas of general corporate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, and real estate finance.
- Advising private equity firm Elaghmore in relation to financing the acquisition of Orchard House Foods from Hain Celestial Group.
- Advising LWC Drinks in relation to a £20 million term loan facility agreement provided by National Westminster Bank Plc.
- Advising a syndicate of lenders in relation to a £24 million facility to AO World Limited, one of the UK's biggest online retailers, to assist in the acquisition of Mobile Phones Direct Limited.
- Advising a syndicate of English, European and US lenders in relation to US$200 million of funding to Innospec Inc. and its subsidiaries. Advising the same lenders in relation to an additional term loan to acquire the US$200 million Huntsman business in the US.
- Advising Clydesdale Bank PLC in relation to term loan and receivables finance facilities as part of the management buyout of Park Cakes Limited, a leading cake manufacturer.
- Advising Radius Payment Solutions Limited in respect of bank funding relating to Inflexion Private Equity's £150 million minority investment.
- Advising Boutique Hotel Group in relation to its refinancing with Santander UK plc.
- Advising East Street Investments in relation to a £43 million facility agreement to fund the acquisition of Charlton Athletic Football Club.
- Advising National Westminster Bank Plc and RBS Invoice Finance Limited in relation to a funding package to Gardner Aerospace Limited in order to acquire Northern Aerospace Limited.
- Advising Lloyds Bank plc in relation to a £20 million facility provided to a leading cash and carry business for general corporate purposes and permitted acquisitions.
- Advising Bruntwood Group Limited in relation to a £115.5 million real estate investment loan with Aviva Investors.
