Margy Callesen focuses her practice in the area of public finance. She has served as bond counsel and counsel to underwriters, purchasers and borrowers in a variety of tax-exempt and taxable project and revenue bond financings. Margy is experienced in general obligation debt, revenue bond debt, tax increment financing and special assessments, healthcare financings, and New Markets Tax Credit, Low Income Housing Tax Credit and historic tax credit financings. She also has experience with a variety of conduit financings and 501(c)(3) bonds.

Margy is involved with a number of local charitable organizations and active with alumni and other activities for Kenyon College. She is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Ohio Chapter of Women in Public Finance and an associate member of the Northeast Ohio Law Directors Association.

  • Serving as underwriters’ counsel on revenue financing transactions for municipal airports and water and sewer systems.
  • Serving as bond counsel, purchaser’s counsel and borrower’s counsel for public and private university financing transactions.
  • Representing borrowers, investors, CDEs and bridge lenders on a variety of New Markets Tax Credit financings.
  • Serving as bond counsel or bank counsel on a variety of Low Income Housing Tax Credit financings.
  • Serving as bond counsel on financings for a large healthcare system and a children’s hospital.
