Luke Carney is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group and specialises in both contentious and non-contentious engineering and construction matters. He advises on standard and bespoke forms of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC, together with the associated consultant appointments, subcontracts and collateral warranties. Luke has particular expertise providing advice to institutional lenders and developers in relation to development projects.

Luke has experience of dealing with various dispute resolution processes when advising clients in the engineering and construction sector, especially adjudication and litigation.

Luke qualified in September 2022 after completing a two-year training contract with the firm. Prior to joining the firm as a trainee, Luke worked for seven months as a paralegal in the Environmental, Safety & Health team in the firm’s Manchester office and spent five months as a paralegal in the Restructuring & Insolvency team in the firm’s Sydney office.
