Steven S. Doi
Partner
Steven Doi is the office managing partner of our Tokyo office and his practice focuses on general corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project finance and investor-side venture capital transactions. Steven has been listed in The Best Lawyers in Japan since the inaugural edition in 2009 for his mergers and acquisitions expertise.
He has served as counsel in public and private company transactions in various jurisdictions, including the US, Japan, China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, the UK, Belgium, France and Germany. Steven has also counseled clients in independent power projects, privatizations and other related energy and infrastructure projects in the US, Japan, China, Thailand, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
- Advising a listed Japanese trading company in the formation of various green energy and recycling related investment vehicles in Japan, the US and Europe.
- Advising a listed Japanese petrochemicals processor in various off-take arrangements and production facilities in Asia and the US.
- Advising a listed Swedish manufacturer with respect to dispositions of manufacturing assets in Japan.
- Advising a listed Japanese specialty chemical company in the assessment of investment opportunities in Asia and the US.
- Advising a listed Japanese manufacturer in its investment and commercial arrangements with a US smart home technology developer.
- Advising a Japanese shareholder consortium regarding US securities compliance and related issues in connection with an initial public offering of a South American steel processing business.
