James Hsu serves as the managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office and is a partner in the Corporate Practice. James represents clients in a broad range of corporate finance and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, debt and equity offerings, joint ventures, public finance transactions, tax-exempt financing and fund formation.

Known for his expertise in navigating multijurisdictional deals, James brings over three decades of experience guiding global clients in complex acquisitions and divestitures. His fluency in Spanish and Chinese has made him an invaluable asset to clients with interests in Latin America and across Asia. As a trusted adviser to global clients, he has represented numerous clients in inbound and outbound matters involving jurisdictions such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Honduras, Mexico, Spain, Australia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Vietnam. Colleagues and clients praise James for his “integrity, his commitment to clients and his civic engagement,” calling him “an exceptional lawyer and leader.”
