Tomohiko Kamimura focuses his practice on a broad range of financings involving various asset types and portfolios of equipment, with a particular focus on aviation finance. He advises financiers, lessors and airlines in connection with the leasing and financing of aircraft on a broad range of cross-border leasing and financing transactions, including JOL and JOLCO financings.

In addition to his commercial aviation experience, he also has significant experience in financial regulations, cross-border project finance, ship finance, mergers and acquisitions, executive compensation and labour and employment, and other general corporate transactions.

Tomohiko has served as counsel in such transactions in various jurisdictions including in Japan, the US, China, Germany, India, the UK, France, Brazil, Canada, Russia, Australia, Spain, Mexico, Indonesia, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Thailand, Austria, Norway, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Ireland, Singapore, Malaysia, Colombia and Chile, just to name a few.

He is recognised as a leading lawyer in The Best Lawyers – Asset Finance Law, and as a rising star in Expert Guides: Aviation.

Tomohiko was based in the firm’s London office from 2014 to 2015, during which he provided guidance on asset finance transactions and corporate transactional matters in the EMEA region.

  • Advised pro bono clients, including a refugee relocation programme after the East Japan Earthquake and a winter night shelter in London.
