Sara Love is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group based in our London office. Sara specialises in resolving complex commercial and corporate disputes with particular experience in matters involving civil fraud.

Sara has experience acting for clients in the UK Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, European courts and the major arbitral institutions (including the ICC, LCIA and HKIAC).

Fraud

  • The “moths” case: Acting for the purchasers of a £32.5 million property in successfully obtaining rescission of the sale due to the vendor’s fraudulent concealment of a moth infestation. (Patarkatsishvili v Woodward-Fisher [2025] EWHC 265 (Ch))
  • Successfully acted for an administrator in obtaining a freezing injunction with a limit of £20 million against a former director and related subsidiaries. The claims involved dishonest breaches of fiduciary duty, including fraudulent drawdowns on an asset finance facility and misappropriating funds.
  • Acted for a commodity trading company in a successful LCIA arbitration concerning fraud and breach of contract.

Commercial Litigation

  • Successful in the UK Supreme Court in a landmark decision on a trial judge’s power to amend an oral judgment prior to a sealed order and the application of CPR 3.9 on relief from sanction. (Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria v AIC Limited UKSC [2022] 1 W.L.R 33230)
  • Acting for a state in the Court of Appeal proceedings concerning the enforcement of an arbitral award against a London property addressing issues on whether generalised language in a contractual document constitutes to waive a state’s immunity from execution.
  • Acted for an ultra-high net worth individual in relation to disputes subject to varying governing laws and various arbitral rules relating to personal guarantees securing hundreds of millions of dollars of debt. Successfully negotiated a settlement extinguishing HK$50 million plus interest and costs.

Corporate Litigation

  • Acted for a FTSE 250 claimant company in Commercial Court proceedings concerning breaches of warranty and the extent of indemnities in a SPA.
  • Acted for an online automotive retailer successfully negotiating a favourable settlement in a claim for breach of warranty under an SPA.
  • Acted for the beneficiary in a trustee dispute relating to the investment of shares in several companies.
