Claire is a senior associate in our Corporate Practice and is based in our Birmingham office.

Claire has experience across a range of project work, including acquisitions and disposals, private equity, corporate reorganisations and corporate governance and regulation.

Claire has also undertaken client secondments to Claires Accessories (an international jewellery and accessories retailer), SAICA (an international recycling and waste management business) and the Business Growth Fund (a growth capital investor).

  • Advising Veolia on its acquisitions of Arden Wood Shavings and the trade waste business of Niramax Group.
  • Advising Tefcold ApS on its acquisition of Midlands-based wholesaler Interlevin Refrigeration.
  • Advising Park Ohio Corp on its acquisition of Midlands-based Heads & All Threads.
  • Advising Dalata on its acquisition of Birmingham Hotel La Tour for £31 million.
  • Advising Rcapital on its acquisition of SciChem.
  • Advising Marston’s PLC on its agreement to acquire the Charles Wells brewing business for circa £55 million.
  • Advising Cellar Trends Limited on an investment by Amber Beverage Group.
  • Advising SAICA on the acquisition of the Americk Packaging Group, a flexible packaging business in Ireland and the UK with turnover of around £110 million.
  • Advised management on the MBO of the Adey Group, backed by LDC.
  • Undertook a full-time secondment to the legal team at the Business Growth Fund, supporting its investors on new investments across growth, quoted and venture capital investments and advising on legal matters affecting Business Growth Fund’s portfolio companies.
  • Advising Mobeus Equity Partners LLP on its investment in Access-IS.
  • Advising Capital Economics and its shareholders on the investment by LDC in the business.
  • Acting for Marston’s PLC on its £25.1 million acquisition of the trading operations of Thwaites’ beer division.
  • Advising Numis Securities Limited as nominated adviser and broker on the admission to the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange of Hunters Property plc, one of the largest national sales and lettings estate agency businesses in the UK.
  • Acting for Mobeus Equity Partners LLP on the £11.3 million buy in management buy out of Creative Graphics International Limited. West Midlands Business Desks Deal of the Month for June 2014.
  • Acting for Cellar Trends Limited, the UK’s leading distributor of specialist wines and spirits, on the disposal of its Jägermeister trade and assets to Mast-Jägermeister SE.
  • Advising Hungarian medical research company, MediMass Kft, on the sale of its business to NYSE listed US buyer, Waters Inc.
  • Acting for TIA (GB) Ltd and Shandong Yongtai Chemical Group (a UK/Chinese consortium) on the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Covpress International Holdings Limited, for a reported deal value of £30 million. Winner of International Deal of the Year at the Insider Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2014.
  • Acting for Park-Ohio Holdings Corp., a US manufacturing services and products holding company, on its acquisition of Apollo Aerospace Group.
  • Acting for Torotrak plc on the investment of a 20% stake in Flybrid Automotive Ltd.
  • Acting for Red Diamond, the owner of the global “Lee Cooper” trademarks, on a US$72 million sale by its private equity owner, Sun Capital, to US-listed company, Iconix Brand Group.
  • Lead adviser to an international recycling and waste management business, following a part-time secondment.
  • Advising Growth Capital Partners LLP on their investment in FLYdocs Systems Limited.
  • Advising Mobeus Equity Partners LLP on the buyout of Media Business Insight Limited.
