David Parry is a director in the Financial Services Practice, based in the Leeds office.

David has a broad range of experience, including general corporate lending, leveraged acquisition finance, real estate finance, education finance and sustainability linked loans. He regularly advises both corporate borrowers and lenders, and has advised on several cross-border transactions.

David trained and qualified at a Magic Circle firm in London and spent nearly 11 years in the banking and finance team of another international top-tier firm based in Leeds before joining us in March 2023.

David is recommended in the current edition of The Legal 500 for his experience in acting for borrowers and banks.

  • Advising a club of four lenders in relation to a £300 million revolving credit facility provided to a listed PLC, a transaction that included a sustainability linked margin adjustment mechanism.
  • Acting for a borrower in relation to the distressed restructuring of its loan facilities.
  • Assisting a club of three lenders in relation to the secured refinancing of a restaurant group.
  • Advising a high street retailer in relation to its secured refinancing.
  • Acting in relation to several refinancings of higher education institutions (advising both borrowers and lenders), including several Russell Group universities.
