Natalia Rodríguez Álvarez is a member of the International Dispute Resolution Practice, based in our Paris office.

A Colombian national, Natalia’s practice specialises in investor-state disputes and international commercial arbitration in the construction, infrastructure, telecommunications and energy sectors.

Natalia joined the firm as an associate, having previously worked in litigation and arbitration at two international firms in Paris and a top-tier law firm in Bogotá.

Natalia is trilingual in Spanish, English and French.

  • Representing the Republic of Colombia in Canal Extensia, S.A.U. v. Republic of Colombia (ICSID Case No. ARB/23/1), under the Colombia-Spain Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) of 2005. The investor claims alleged violations of the standards of expropriation and fair and equitable treatment, among others.
  • Representing the Republic of Peru in Operadora Ecológica del Titicaca S.A.C. v. Republic of Peru (ICSID case No. ARB/23/11), an International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) arbitration related to a concession contract for the construction of a wastewater sanitation system in the region around Lake Titicaca.
  • Representing the Republic of Peru in Metro de Lima Línea 2, S.A. v. Republic of Peru (ICSID cases No. ARB/17/3, ARB/21/41 and ARB 21/57), three ICSID arbitrations related to a concession contract for the construction of a large-scale public work in Lima, Peru.
  • Advising a Latin American state in an ICSID arbitration concerning investments in the telecommunications sector.
  • Advising a Central American state in an ICSID arbitration concerning investments in the banking sector.
  • Representing a German company in an Internation Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) arbitration in the transport sector.
  • Advising a French company in a Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) arbitration in the aeronautics sector.
  • Representing two Colombian public companies in the toilet sector in two domestic commercial arbitrations administered by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB).
  • Supporting a court in a CCI arbitration under Spanish law between a Spanish company and a German company related to a contract for the purchase and sale of photovoltaic modules.
