Jevgenia Serper is a senior associate in our Financial Services Practice, based in Abu Dhabi.

Jevgenia’s practice is focused on project development, particularly in the power, renewables, oil and gas, infrastructure and construction space. She has extensive experience advising developers, lenders and sponsors, and representing companies and financial institutions on a range of domestic and sophisticated cross-border transactions spanning various sectors and jurisdictions, including the UK, Europe, the Middle East and southeast Asia.

Jevgenia is a member of the Commodities & Shipping Group and is involved in representing clients in the shipping, maritime and offshore energy industries, including advising on chartering and financing of maritime assets, corporate transactional aspects and negotiation of project contracts.

  • Advising Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) on the long-term charter of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), which will be used to provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) to a 235MW floating power plant in Senegal.
  • Advising lenders in respect of the proposed debt and equity financing for the development of the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) to be located near the Barossa gas field in Australian Commonwealth waters offshore of the Northern Territory.
  • Acting as Singapore legal counsel to a European infrastructure investment firm (as sponsors) on the project documents in relation to US$3 billion project financing of a 589MW offshore wind farm development project in Taiwan. Awarded Renewables Deal of the Year, PFI Asia Awards 2020.
  • Advising a Chinese entity on the construction, development, operation and maintenance arrangements for the 150MW Cattle Hill wind farm project in Tasmania, Australia. This project has an approximate value of AU$328 million and represents the first investment by this entity into the Australian renewable energy market with an unprecedented bespoke structure.
  • Acting on the acquisition of a material stake in a 720MW gas-fired power project in Bangladesh, including full due diligence and negotiation of the transaction documents. Awarded Asia Pacific Power Deal of the Year, PFI Awards 2020.
  • Advising a project company on the development of a 1200MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Pulau Indah, Selangor, including the EPC contract negotiations. The power generated from the new power plant will be sold to an electricity utility through a power purchase agreement.
  • Advising on the expansion of the EPC contract and the EPC tender documents for the second stage of development of a geothermal project in Indonesia.
  • Advising on the acquisition of 20% stake in a greenfield 1200MW coal-fired Independent Power Project in Vietnam, developed on a build, own, transfer (BOT) basis with a total investment cost of more than US$2 billion.
  • Advising a Chinese SOE on the potential acquisition of 100% of a 300MW oil-fired power project in Bangladesh.
  • Advising the ECAs and lenders on the Yamal LNG project in Russia.
