Andrew Sprake is a partner in our Real Estate Practice Group based in our Leeds office.

    Andrew heads Squire Patton Boggs' economic development and regeneration advisory team in Leeds.

    Andrew specialises in acting for the public sector in the regeneration of city centre and brownfield sites. Andrew is particularly experienced in acting for the public sector in all aspects of the acquisition development and onward sale of such sites.

    His work covers complex joint venture agreements, development agreements, funding agreements and overage/clawback.

    Andrew has traditionally acted for the majority of the regional development agencies in England and the Homes and Communities Agency nationally and continues to act for many local authorities in Yorkshire and across the UK.

    In addition, Andrew advises a number of large corporations on their real estate requirements including Royal Mail Group, Live Nation, SCA Packaging and SAICA Pack UK.

    • Acting for Yorkshire Forward in the acquisition and redevelopment of Sheffield Midland Station and the former Nelson Mandela Building as part of the "Ecampus" site for Creative Sheffield.
    • Leading our team on the successful delivery of the Digital Region Project for Yorkshire Forward.
    • Drafting the complex Memorandum of Understanding for Yorkshire Forward alongside Network Rail and National Railway Museum in relation to the York Central Project.
    • Acting for the City of Wakefield Council in the provision of development funding in respect of Trinity Walk Shopping Centre, a joint project with Yorkshire Forward.
    • Acting for the City of Bradford Council in the provision of development funding for the Southgate Development.
    • Acting for Yorkshire Forward in the provision of development funding for the Broad Steel Development at Halifax, a joint project with Yorkshire Forward.
    • Acting for the Homes and Communities Agency in the development of New Islington Millennium Community Project East Manchester.
    • Acting for SEEDA in the regeneration of Hastings and Ashford town centres.
    • Acting for the London Development Agency in connection with the acquisition of land belonging to Network Rail as part of the new Wembley Stadium project.
    • Acting for Yorkshire Forward and Kingston upon Hull City Council in relation to the Ferensway Transport Interchange Project, Hull.
    • Acting for Lincolnshire County Council in connection with the acquisition of land for the new A1073 Spalding to Eye bypass.
