Ben Squires is a partner in our Corporate Practice based in London, having recently joined from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Ben advises on all aspects of corporate work and has a particular specialism in private equity.

    Ben acts for private equity firms on M&A transactions, including private acquisitions and disposals, take privates, secondary sales, GP-led secondary transactions, joint ventures and management incentive plans. He also advises corporates on a wide range of matters, including M&A, group reorganisations, carve-outs and general corporate advisory issues.

    • Acting for KKR on its disposal of LGC Science Group to a consortium led by Cinven and Astorg.
    • Acting for Silver Lake (in consortium with PSP and GIC) on its take private of ZPG Plc – owner of Zoopla, PrimeLocation and uSwitch – for £2.2 billion.
    • Acting for Blackstone on its disposal of Intelenet to Teleperformance for US$1 billion.
    • Acting for Apax Partners on its acquisition of a majority stake in Solita Group from Vaaka Partners.
    • Acting for Bridgepoint on the disposal of three portfolio companies – Rodenstock, Infinitas Learning and Protocol – to Compass Partners.
    • Acting for Apax Partners on the disposal of Azelis to EQT and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board.
    • Acting for Silver Lake on its joint venture arrangements with AltaOne Capital in connection with its acquisition of Cegid Group.
    • Acting for Bridgepoint on the sale of a passive minority stake in itself to Dyal Capital Partners.
    • Acting for Blackstone Real Estate on its take private of Hansteen Holdings Plc for £500 million.
    • Acting for Office Depot, Inc. on the disposal of its European business to Aurelius.
    • Acting for CBRE on its public takeover of Telford Homes Plc for £270 million.
    • Acting for Gates Industrial Corporation Plc on a group restructuring in preparation for its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, and two subsequent group reorganisations.
    • Acting for AXIS Capital on its public takeover of Novae Group Plc for £468 million.
    • Acting for Seafox International on its disposal of a 51% stake in Seafox 5 Limited to Fred Olsen.
