Jessie Suen has nearly 20 years of experience protecting critical and groundbreaking innovations for her clients. Her practice focuses on procuring patents for complex, fast-moving technologies, and developing portfolios and strategies to cover key innovations and business priorities.
Jessie works with clients ranging from entrepreneurs and early stage startups to Fortune 500 companies. She applies her academic background and professional experience to matters related to machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), large-scale data analytics, A/B testing and experimental designs, distributed systems, cloud computing, databases, filesystems, computer networking, virtualization, concurrency, signal processing, computer graphics, computer vision, system architecture, computer security, programming languages, analog circuits, power sources, mobile devices and industrial design.
Jessie’s engineering experience includes working on a software-based system for controlling piezoelectric membrane deformation, a field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based prototype gigahertz digital sampling oscilloscope, and the user interface (UI) and business logic layers of an investment management application.
At Caltech, Jessie participated in NASA’s Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program. In this capacity, she proposed, designed, built and conducted an experiment investigating the behavior of magnetorheological fluids in microgravity under varying magnetic fields using diffusing wave spectroscopy.
Jessie is actively involved in discussions, presentations and developments related to patenting emerging technologies. She is a regular speaker, panelist and presenter at industry conferences and has contributed thought leadership on protecting AI/ML inventions.
