Sara Triplett has significant experience litigating complex cases in federal and state courts nationwide, including at trial and on appeal. Her experience covers a broad range of subject matters, including business disputes, financial services, securities, cross-border disputes, multidistrict litigation and class action claims. Sara is admitted to the California, New York and Florida state bars.

Sara is a litigator with more than a decade of experience representing US and multinational clients in civil and regulatory matters, including contract disputes, business torts, securities litigation, cross-border disputes, financial services litigation and class action claims.

She also has a strong background in products liability litigation and mass torts, including multidistrict litigation, statewide class actions, and individual suits in state and federal court.

Additionally, Sara maintains an active pro bono practice, with a particular focus on gender equality and protection of rights.

  • Effectively counseled a client in a highly sensitive and nonpublic matter on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and anti-money laundering laws and regulations under the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
  • Obtained a critical preliminary injunction for a foreign lender in connection with a borrower’s default on several multimillion-dollar mezzanine loans.
  • Successfully won a dismissal, with prejudice, of plaintiffs’ claims on motion to dismiss in contested trust and estates litigation involving a protracted family dispute.
  • Counseled a client in a highly sensitive and nonpublic matter involving prospective qui tam relators alleging violations of the False Claims Act.
  • Secured a favorable settlement for a well-known biotechnology company in a federal declaratory judgment action after filing trade secret misappropriation counterclaims.
  • Successfully defended a Fortune 150 client in all state and federal New York litigation; oversaw all initial investigation, motion practice, discovery, settlement negotiation and trial planning.
  • Second-chaired a jury trial for a Fortune 150 client, resulting in a favorable settlement prior to verdict.
  • Successfully defended a Fortune 1000 client as national coordinating counsel in over 120 federal multidistrict litigation mass tort cases; charged with oversight of initial investigation, motion practice, discovery and trial planning.
  • Represented a French technology company in negotiating its international intellectual property contracts, including counseling the client as to best contractual language to protect its interests in the global marketplace.
  • Second-chaired a multimillion-dollar securities bench trial, resulting in a complete dismissal of the client prior to judgment.
  • Successfully negotiated dismissals with plaintiffs’ counsel in over 20 multidistrict mass tort cases, resulting in a significant decrease in potential exposure for the client and national press coverage (Law360).
  • Lead attorney charged with defending bellwether depositions nationwide on a high-profile mass torts matter, resulting in, among other things, one bellwether plaintiff’s voluntary dismissal of suit with prejudice.
