Elise Van Gerven advises clients on regulatory, product and environmental law at the national and international levels. Her expertise covers a wide range of regulatory frameworks, including ecodesign, WEEE, RoHS, REACH, biocides, medical devices, food regulation and medicinal products, addressing both existing and upcoming EU legislation.
Elise has significant experience in litigation before the European courts in Luxembourg, as well as proceedings in the Netherlands and Belgium. She has also actively been involved in Consortia work under the Biocidal Products Regulation, providing legal support and handling complex data-sharing negotiations with third parties.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Elise built extensive expertise in preparation and negotiation of a broad variety of policy and legislation at the regional, Belgian and EU levels. She led the team that was responsible for successful notifications to the European Commission. She was furthermore actively involved in the adoption of new EU energy and climate legislation, and was part of several Belgian delegations to EU Council meetings.
