Daniel Zhao is an associate in the Corporate Practice, where he focuses on the representation of corporate and institutional clients on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate matters. His experience spans both domestic and cross-border deals, and he has worked on transactional matters for companies involved in industries including healthcare, biotechnology, food, electronics, pharmaceutical and manufacturing. He has often advised clients on and helped them navigate new developments in law that presented thorny, complex and disruptive issues to ensure clients were informed and well situated to deal with such developments and disruptions.

Daniel brings a global perspective to his practice, shaped by hands-on experience in both US and international legal environments. Prior to joining the firm, Daniel served as an intern at the New York and Los Angeles offices of an international law firm, where he handled civil complaints, settlement agreements and corporate documentation, including debt conversion agreements. Daniel also served as an intern to a large US-based law firm in Shanghai, where he reviewed corporate contracts and agreements, and translated legal documents.
