Our specialized Brussels environmental team supports a coalition of companies, known as the EU Silver Task Force, with their mission manage the regulatory approval, compliance and defense of silver-based active substances under the EU and UK Biocidal Products Regulation, ensuring their safe and sustainable use in antimicrobial applications across Europe. This is likely the most complex biocidal active substance task force in Europe.
As a trusted partner to the task force, we actively manage and advise on regulatory compliance issues, advocate for their interests with authorities, and liaise with industry and government stakeholders. We also counsel members on new legislation (e.g., water law) that may impact their products, and provide guidance on a wide range of commercial issues, including data sharing and data protection.
The true testament to our work has not only been the organization’s membership growth, but also the continued marketability of silver-based antimicrobials in the face of a very challenging regulatory environment.
