Angela Radich is an experienced litigator who has represented clients in construction disputes across a diverse range of sectors, including mining and energy, transport, entertainment, residential, aged care and education.
She recently represented a tier-one contractor in the arbitration of a long-running, complex and high-value dispute on a liquified natural gas (LNG) project.
Angela has acted for clients in the full range of Australian courts, including the High Court of Australia, Full Federal Court and New South Wales Court of Appeal. She also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution processes, including arbitration and mediation. Prior to specialising in construction litigation, she acted for the Australian government and corporate clients in litigated matters.

Represented an Australian tier-one contractor in an arbitration of a construction dispute on an LNG project. The issues included termination, alleged incomplete and defective works, delay and disruption, and variation and remeasure claims. The combined value of the claims and counterclaims approached AU$1 billion.
Drafted position papers for a tier-one contractor claiming payment for port extension and upgrade works. The contractor claimed over AU$90 million in the payment claim that was the subject of facilitated negotiations.
Prepared adjudication responses for a tier-one contractor on a major freeway upgrade project, including a response that resulted in the adjudicator determining that AU$90,000 was payable, rather than the AU$6.3 million claimed by the subcontractor.
Advised an Australian airport owner in relation to cost-sharing arrangements for the resurfacing of a runway, including the mechanism to be applied and dispute resolution options. The estimated cost of the works was over AU$200 million.
Represented the owner of a tavern in defending claims by its tenant that the sewerage system was defective. Over AU$7 million was claimed for diminution in the value of the tenant’s business.
Advised the owner of a gold mine on a civil contractor’s delays to the construction of tailings storage facilities and the supply of defective precast concrete products by another supplier.
Advised a supplier in relation to the supply of allegedly contaminated sand to a building products manufacturer, its exposure arising from the issue, and how such risks may be mitigated in the future.
Represented a contractor in proceedings against Transport for NSW in relation to trenching works undertaken for the CBD and South East Light Rail project. The dispute concerned alleged misleading and deceptive conduct and latent conditions.
Acted for bond issuer Swiss Re International SE in Federal Court proceedings regarding an AU$14 million bond call following the appointment of administrators to WDS Limited (contractor on the Eagle Downs coalmine project in Queensland).
Defended developers and builders in proceedings concerning incomplete and defective works, including NSW Supreme Court claims up to AU$12 million in value.
Advised principals and contractors on claims management during the life of construction projects, including responding to claims for delay damages, issuing show cause notices, and instructing variations to the scope of works.
Undertook audits of construction projects to determine whether contractual processes were being followed and claims managed appropriately and strategically by the contractor.
