About Ekaterina

Ekaterina Oger Grivnova is a multilingual international arbitration lawyer with a proven track record in investment and commercial disputes across a broad spectrum of industries, including oil and gas, telecoms, technology, finance and post-M&A. She represents states, state-owned entities and private companies in complex arbitrations under various arbitration rules.

Recognized in the Legal 500 Arbitration Powerlist for France, and as a Top Young Russian Arbitration Lawyer, Ekaterina also advises on dispute resolution strategy, pre-dispute negotiations and contract structuring.

She holds a PhD in law from the Sorbonne Law School, where her doctoral research focused on the inadmissibility of claims in arbitration, has taught comparative law and arbitration and regularly speaks at leading international conferences on arbitration and legal innovation.

  • Counsel for an international tobacco company in an ad hoc arbitration concerning its corporate obligations towards OHADA subsidiaries and their shareholders.
  • Counsel for a contractor in an ICC arbitration relating to the construction of a plant.
  • Counsel for an oil and gas company in an ICC arbitration concerning the nondelivery of gas due to sanctions.
  • Counsel for a Southeast Asian state in an ICSID arbitration arising out of the alleged expropriation of telecommunication licenses.
