Georgia O’Driscoll assists in relation to energy market regulation, disputes and proceedings, as well as due diligence for corporate transactions. Georgia also assists with various competition law matters, including undertaking assessments of the application of Australia’s mandatory merger regime to corporate transactions and advising on the application of the Competition and Consumer Law Act 2010 (Cth).
Prior to joining our Energy & Natural Resources team, Georgia completed a graduate rotation in our Real Estate Practice, where she assisted with commercial leasing activities, residential apartment sales and hospitality transactions.

Proceedings alleging an electricity retailer breached local electricity market rules with an estimated market impact in excess of AU$60 million
Supreme Court of Western Australia judicial review proceedings by two gas retailers seeking to overturn a finding issued by the regulator that they had breached local gas market rules
Proceedings against the operators of a coal-fired power station, including issuing a civil penalty for a breach of electricity market rules
Assisting with advice to an electricity retailer on the application of the unfair contract terms under Australian Consumer Law to its retail electricity contracts.
Undertaking due diligence on an Australian clinical trials company ahead of a proposed listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Assisting with advice on the application of Australia’s new mandatory merger regime, including required notification to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), in respect of proposed share acquisitions by an international acquirer of Australian companies.
Assisting with a mandatory merger regime assessment in relation to the acquisition of an Australian company by a UK-based digital marketing company, involving the transfer of some trading contracts and employees.
Assisting with a mandatory merger regime assessment in relation to an asset acquisition by a major Australian automotive dealership network.
Assisting with advice to an international property developer on the new Australian mandatory merger regime in connection with its proposed sale of a luxury hotel.
Preparing a licence and option agreement for a landowner to facilitate the development of a power generation project on its property.
