Soumitra (Sam) Deka is a seasoned patent litigator with more than 20 years of experience representing clients in high-stakes intellectual property (IP) disputes. His practice spans a wide range of technologies, including semiconductors, optical networking, 3D imaging and display, hard disk drives (HDDs), telecommunications and cybersecurity, as well as pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
As a registered patent attorney, Sam regularly represents clients in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. In addition to his patent litigation focus, he has extensive trial experience in complex litigation and arbitration involving trade secrets, antitrust claims and royalty disputes.
Earlier in his career, Sam gained hands-on technical research experience at a telecommunications equipment company and later served in the in-house legal department of a semiconductor research and manufacturing company while attending law school.
