About Timothy

Timothy O’Shea is an associate in the Los Angeles office with broad experience representing individuals, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies in criminal proceedings, governmental and internal investigations, trust disputes and complex commercial litigation.

In addition to his experience as a litigator, Timothy began his career in-house at a multiplatform, Spanish-language media company, where he worked directly with the general counsel to oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s regulatory compliance (including adherence to FCC reporting obligations), insurance coverage, intellectual property, lease and real property rights, and its human resources department.

Timothy studied at the University of Central Florida, where he graduated a year early while double majoring in political science and legal studies. During his undergraduate studies, Timothy created and subsequently sold the largest online collegiate communications board in the country and was selected to intern for a US senator.

Timothy then attended New York Law School as an international legal scholar, where he studied abroad at the London University of Law, before externing and conducting operational due diligence at a global investment firm in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Experience

  • Member of the trial team in defending a medical doctor charged in a US$355 million federal healthcare fraud prosecution. After a three-month trial, which was one of the longest federal criminal cases in district history, the jury returned a verdict in favor of our client on all 33 felony counts. All other defendants were convicted on all counts.

  • Member of the trial team in an infringement case against a print-on-demand website. After a three-day trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of our client for US$500,000 in damages for contributory trademark infringement.

  • Defended the city of Los Angeles and its officials against a series of class action lawsuits alleging fraudulent settlement, RICO violations and Section 1983 claims.

  • Defended the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power against a series of class action lawsuits alleging violations of city ordinances and charter.

  • Defended a global real estate brokerage corporation against a multimillion-dollar breach of contract claim.

  • Defended an American multinational cable news network against a multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit.

  • Negotiated multimillion-dollar settlement agreements for multiple clients with respect to trust disputes.
