Practising Law Institute Dodd-Frank Mortgage Reform Audio Update

DC partner Richard Andreano will conduct a Practising Law Institute audio briefing on the implications of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act's implications for the residential mortgage industry on October 4, 2011. The one-hour briefing will address the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) attempts to develop integrated mortgage loan disclosures under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Truth in Lending Act; the mortgage loan repayment ability determination proposal of the Federal Reserve Board; mortgage originator compensation restrictions and restrictions on originators and creditors regarding steering and related conduct that must be implemented by the Bureau, and coordinated with the existing rule adopted by the Federal Reserve Board on loan originator compensation; and other mortgage industry changes provided for by Congress in Dodd-Frank that will be implemented by the CFPB.
