Squire Sanders will participate in the 4th Annual Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress, taking place October 24-26, 2012. The Conference is one of the largest healthcare conferences in the US and offers dedicated corporate wellness and medical wellness education focusing on employers, as well as the agents, brokers and consultants that advise employers.

Partner Lisa G. Han will present "State, Federal and Private Health Exchanges: The Future Marketplace for Health Insurance," on Thursday, October 25 at 10:10 a.m. She will address the following questions:

What are private health exchanges?
Who is eligible for coverage under the exchanges?
What types of benefits will be offered through the exchanges?
Will the exchanges prove to be an effective means of delivering insurance?
Will the private exchanges prove to be a viable alternative to the state and federal exchanges or to coverage outside of the exchanges?

On Friday, October 26 at 3:40 p.m., partner Gregory J. Viviani will present "Legalities of Implementing Wellness Into a Self Funded Plan." He will outline the key legal requirements that need to be considered when planning to implement a corporate wellness program. The session will provide first time – and long time – managers of corporate wellness programs with knowledge and guidance on the rules and regulations required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as the impending changes brought about by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
