    Squire Sanders, Hong Kong Institute of Patent Attorneys and Hong Kong Brands Protection Alliance have jointly organized a half-day seminar to discuss brand and trademark protection in US, Europe, Japan and HK/China. This is a basic level seminar aimed at a wide audience of attendees.

    The program will address a variety of topics including:

    • Brand Protection in the US – types of marks, selection of marks, benefits of trademark registration, requirements for registration and registration with US Customs.
    • Brand Protection in Europe – trademark protection, design protection, IP enforcement.
    • Brand Protection in Japan – introduction of the Japanese trademark system, Patent Office review and determination systems, cancellation, import control system, exercise of rights and litigation.
    • Brand Protection in Greater China – overview of Chinese legal system, view from the field, trademark protection in China, well-known brand concepts, Customs protection, choice of enforcement routes.

    The seminar is free to attend, and food and drinks will be provided.
