Settlement agreements can be an effective tool in the workplace, especially when negotiating the end of an employment relationship.

Join us at our October Employment Workshop when we will use a practical case study to explore the key legal and practical issues to consider when using settlement agreements.

We will cover:

The basics – what is a settlement agreement, conditions regulating their use, the Acas Code of Practice
The distinction between a COT3 agreement and a settlement agreement
How to raise entering a settlement agreement with your employee
Key clauses and what they do
Tax issues on termination, including proposals for reform
Best practice drafting tips
Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
Unwinding settlement agreements

As always, you will have the opportunity to ask questions of our lawyers as well as to share experiences with other delegates.

This workshop is suitable for line managers who may have to carry out such investigations as well as legal and HR professionals.
