March Employment Seminar – Defending Tribunal Claims: Maximising Success, Minimising Stress

7 March 2019
Squire Patton Boggs
Rutland House
148 Edmund Street
Birmingham
B3 2JR

Following the abolition of employment tribunal fees, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of claims brought against employers. With this in mind, our March 2019 seminar will take the form of a mock employment tribunal hearing to ensure that you and your managers are in a stronger position to prepare for and defend any tribunal claims.

We will be joined by barristers from leading chambers to give you a realistic insight into what happens at a tribunal hearing. You will have the opportunity to see witnesses give evidence and be cross-examined, and watch the barristers present legal arguments to the tribunal panel.

This session will be of particular interest to HR professionals and in-house advisers, as well as managers with responsibility for handling employment matters who may be required to give evidence at a tribunal. It is relevant even if you do not currently have any ongoing tribunal complaints, as we will highlight how tribunals approach matters such as decision-making and note-taking, enabling you to take pre-emptive steps to ensure your pre-litigation procedures are watertight.

As always, you will have an opportunity to ask questions of our experts and share your experiences with other delegates.

Cost
£40 plus VAT

Duration
Registration is at 8:45 a.m. for a 9 a.m. start. The seminar will last 2 1/4 hours.
