2021 Chemicals Workshop Webinar Series: PFAS and Prop 65 Update

Region: Americas
3 November 2021
Webinar

Presentation materials and a recording of the webinar are available online.

Join Allen Kacenjar and Kendra Sherman for the second webinar in our four-part 2021 Chemicals Workshop Webinar Series in partnership with the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council (OCTC). This webinar will discuss new, significant federal and state government regulation on Polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances and new regulatory amendments and recent cases involving California Proposition 65 (Prop 65).

This webinar will address the array of US regulatory and legislative efforts to regulate PFAS, restrict its production, and impose liability for exposure to, and the remediation of, PFAS compounds. Key areas of focus will include US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recent PFAS Strategic Roadmap, impeding restrictions under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), evolving Safe Drinking Water Act standards and efforts to impose PFAS obligations through pending legislation and CERCLA.

We will also discuss wide-sweeping proposed changes to the content and method of use for Prop 65 “short-form” warnings, recent cases, trending chemicals and products targeted by Prop 65 plaintiff lawyers, new enforcement statistics, and guidance offered by the agency that implements Prop 65 – the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment.

We hope that you will join us as we distill these federal and state regulatory issues governing PFAS and Prop 65 and offer practical advice and tips that the chemical industry can use to help mitigate risks.

CLE is pending for 1.0 hour of general CLE in the following jurisdictions: AZ, CA, CO, NJ, NY, OH and TX.

We will circulate an invitation for the final two webinars in our series in due course.
