Superfund and Natural Resource Damages Litigation (Environment, Energy, and Resources Law: The Year in Review)

    Congress enacted no changes to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) during 2012. The administrative developments important to superfund practitioners primarily concerned the National Priorities List (NPL): Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) placed twenty-four new sites on the NPL and proposed to list eighteen more. EPA also periodically deleted portions or entire NPL sites based on completion of work and attainment of cleanup standards.
