Following consultation on a number of changes to national planning policy in December 2022, the government published an updated National Planning Policy Framework on 5 September 2023. This includes amendments to national planning policy relating to onshore wind development, with the intention of providing greater flexibility. This article summarises the amendments and considers some of the practical implications which may arise going forward.
