Squire Patton Boggs has announced the addition of Larry J. Obhof, Jr. as Of Counsel to the firm. Obhof joins the firm’s litigation practice in Columbus, serving clients throughout Ohio and nationally.

"Larry brings deep experience in appellate litigation, constitutional law, antitrust, torts, securities and shareholder litigation, and employment law, as well as general commercial litigation,” said Alex Shumate, Managing Partner, North America of Squire Patton Boggs. “His years of experience representing clients in some of our country’s most important cases adds another level of capability to our practice.”

Obhof, a widely respected litigator, will focus on general litigation and appellate litigation. "Larry will strengthen our national appellate practice, bringing a wealth of appellate experiences and success to the firm," said Pierre Bergeron, head of the Appellate practice group.

Obhof’s prior experience includes working at two national law firms, Baker Hostetler and Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He served as a law clerk to U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Alice M. Batchelder. Obhof has also taught at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, serving as adjunct professor. His academic writings have been cited in more than 50 law journals throughout the country. In addition to his practice, Obhof has served as Ohio’s State Senator from the 22nd District since 2011 and currently serves the Ohio Senate as Majority Whip.
