Latinvex, Latin America’s leading business publication, has named Awilda M. Alcántara-Bourdier and Lisa H. Henneberry among the leading female lawyers specializing in Latin America from international law firms. In the annual Top 100 Female Lawyers in Latin America list, Ms. Alcántara-Bourdier was recognized in the “Corporate/M&A” category, with Ms. Henneberry recognized for her “Energy” work.

Ms. Alcántara-Bourdier focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and tax matters. She has significant experience representing multinational clients regarding the structuring of their business interests and investments in the Dominican Republic, primarily in the electric, financial services, manufacturing and construction sectors, as well as in general project finance. Ms. Alcántara-Bourdier has participated in some of the largest and most complex mergers and corporate acquisitions in the Dominican Republic and is a frequent speaker on issues related to corporate law and governance.

Serving as head of the firm’s global Energy & Natural Resources Practice, Ms. Henneberry has extensive energy experience, including handling all aspects of projects related to natural gas pipelines, power plants, renewable facilities and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in the US and Latin America, in addition to Asia, Africa and Europe. She represents suppliers, purchasers, transporters and shippers of natural gas, coal, coke, steam, biofuels, petrochemicals and power in the US and Mexico. Ms. Henneberry has represented natural gas suppliers in connection with US and cross-border natural gas sales contracts to serve power generation facilities in the US and Mexico. Additionally, she has worked on the development of a number of LNG facilities, as well as numerous short- and long-term capacity and LNG and gas purchase and sales arrangements in the US and Mexico.
