Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that Steven M. Auvil has been appointed managing partner of the firm’s Cleveland office. The managing partner role transitions to Mr. Auvil from Michele Connell, who has been appointed the next Global Managing Partner of the firm’s US LLP.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Auvil led the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Group’s litigation practice in the US. He is a registered patent attorney and has successfully represented clients before trial and appellate courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration panels in intellectual property matters. He has been recognized for excellence in this field by peer-reviewed publications for more than a decade.
Mr. Auvil has also been active in the community. He has held leadership positions in national and local bar associations, including serving as President of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association. He currently serves as the inaugural and current President of The Kathleen M. O’Malley American Inn or Court and also serves on the board of the American Red Cross, Northern Ohio Region.

Mr. Auvil’s appointment as Cleveland managing partner goes into effect on October 1, 2021.
