The Squire Patton Boggs Milan office has advised A2A Ambiente, a branch of A2A Group, on its latest acquisition in the circular economy sphere. A2A Group acquired 100% of TecnoA, a leading company in central and southern Italy focused on the treatment of industrial waste.
The team in Milan advising A2A Group was led by partner Daniela Sabelli, with associates Gianludovico Maggi, for the corporate side, and Letizia Ceccarelli for regulatory aspects.
A2A Group is an Italy based utilities company focused on sustainability that handles the generation, sale and distribution of energy, district heating, the collection and recovery of waste, e-mobility and smart services for towns and cities, public lighting and integrated urban water management.
With TecnoA, the A2A Group will have an industrial waste treatment capacity of over 800,000 tonnes per year. TecnoA's installation centre at Crotone in Italy represents excellence at a national level and has capacity to treat around 300,000 tonnes of industrial waste per year. Among the assets acquired are an inertisation plant, a chemical-physical treatment plant for liquid waste, a thermo-destructor for hospital waste and a waste-to-energy plant dedicated to the energy recovery of industrial waste.
