Squire Patton Boggs is proud to announce that it received a perfect score of 100 and designation of “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” for the 14th consecutive year on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI).

The CEI is the foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.

“Our designation as a ‘Best Place to Work’ for fourteen consecutive years is a testament to the firm’s ongoing commitment to furthering equality in the workplace, and we are honored to be ranked among many of our clients and peers,” said Fred Nance, Co-Global Managing Partner and Global DEI Counsel. “Creating a supportive, inclusive environment is one of our core firm values, where our clients, lawyers and professional staff can be the best versions of themselves.”

“Workplace inclusion and diversity promote enhanced collaboration, innovation, and are critical to successful business outcomes. We are proud to be a leader within the legal industry and a champion for the LGBTQ community,” added Alethia Nancoo, Global Board Member and Co-Chair of the Inclusion & Diversity Committee.

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families;
  • Supporting an inclusive culture; and,
  • Corporate social responsibility.

Earlier this year Squire Patton Boggs created its “Office of DEI,” which is led by Mr. Nance, to assure that the DEI function has a seat at the table at the highest level of the firm and remains embedded in its culture and operations.

Michele Connell, Co-Global Managing Partner commented, “Prioritizing and evolving our diversity focus remains central to our culture and our client value proposition. We are proud to again receive this designation from Human Rights Campaign and are committed keeping DEI at the forefront of how we manage our business.”
