Squire Patton Boggs has advised Sun Media, a Spanish digital advertising company in video, native and performance with over 200 employees and a presence in Spain, Latin America, US and Europe, on the sale of Lab Cave to UK-based Airnow plc.
The team advising Sun Media was led by Ramón Castilla, with the assistance of Antonio Fernández-Rodríguez and Cristina Fernández, and Jose Aguilar and Miguel Nasser on tax matters, and Juan Nasarre on employment matters.
The deal is the latest in a line of high-profile acquisitions by the growing UK company, which acquired MightySignal in July 2021, along with Priori Data, Airpush and Abilott over the past five years. Lab Cave, which specializes in portfolio management, App Store optimization and launches for the global mobile games industry, will maintain its headquarters in Madrid, with a staff of 30, adapting a hybrid working model as it grows its specialist, multi-disciplinary team to handle a greater number of larger publishing projects in the mobile games sector.
Lab Cave will continue to be led by CEO Luis Berto, who has headed the company since 2020. Mr. Berto will work closely with the Airnow Board to define and drive the new direction of the business in line with Airnow's objectives.
