Squire Patton Boggs has joined the Reignite Academy, part of its long-term commitment to improving diversity and inclusion at the firm.
The Reignite Academy works in partnership with law firms to provide opportunities for lawyers who have taken a break from city careers and want to return to private practice.
Alison Treliving, co-chair of the firm’s Labour & Employment Practice and a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee commented: “We have ambitious growth plans and in order to continue to build a diverse and inclusive culture at the firm, it is critical that we recruit from a wide talent pool. We see women returning to the law as an important source of future talent and key to improving representation of women in the partnership.”
Squire Patton Boggs recently signed up to an initiative in the US led by Diversity Lab’s OnRamp Fellowship to bring more female lawyers back to the profession. The Reignite Academy mirrors this effort in the UK.
This week, the firm has welcomed its first Reignite associate, Dominika Leyshon, into the Financial Services team in London.
Paula Laird, who leads that team in Europe, said: “We’re looking forward to Dominika’s arrival; her experience is just what we need and we wouldn’t have found her through the usual channels.”
